About Justin
Justin Sumner is a trial attorney involved in a wide range of general civil and complex commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts around the country.
From representing large Fortune 500 companies to ‘Mom and Pop shops,’ Justin’s role since joining the firm in 2006 has consisted of first and second chairing jury trials, arbitration, bench trials, motion practice, settlement negotiations, discovery planning, and he has taken and defended hundreds of depositions throughout the country.
Areas of practice include, Wrongful Death, Civil Commercial Litigation, ‘Whistleblower’ False Claims Act Litigation, Qui Tam litigation, Labor and Employment, Defense of and Plaintiff Representation in the areas of Fraud, Consumer Protection, Deceptive Trade Practice Act (DTPA), Products Liability, Catastrophic Personal Injury, Civil Rights, and Medical Malpractice.
In Justin’s off-time, he enjoys coaching and watching his three kids play sports. Justin is a former athlete who played football for the University of Arkansas. He is also an avid surfer, and enjoys traveling to surfing locations around the world. He also enjoys scuba diving, deep sea fishing, and snow skiing in the winter.

- Successful Representation and six-figure settlement obtained for an individual vs. Fortune 500 company involving age discrimination and FMLA Retaliation. (Family Medical Leave Act) in Federal Court Northern District of Texas. Prevailed on the motion for summary judgement.
- Successful plaintiff representation with a multi-six figure pre-filing settlement of a labor and employment matter involving sexual and gender discrimination.
- Successful plaintiff representation versus a Fortune 500 company, obtained six-figure settlement of a labor and employment matter involving Retaliation, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Age Discrimination.
- Representation of professionals from publicly traded company in investigations brought by the SEC following restatements of the companies’ financial statements.
- Assisted in the successful representation of Fortune 500 Company Whistleblower Qui Tam litigation in the State of Iowa. The State chose not to intervene.

- Assisted in representation of Forbes 200 IT outsourcing company dispute regarding fraud and breach of contract.
- Led global investigation of a Fortune 250 company involving trade secret violations, copyright infringement, and software misappropriation.
- Lead attorney DWI jury trial. Not guilty.
